foxnet22
we had a drive to a farm near cumbria last night after a midweek phone chat with the farmer who said he,d seen a few foxes lately.we arrived a bit late so had to check zero in the dark but all ok grouped reasonably well at 100 yrd so off we went.first field lamped around half dozen rabbits so my mate picked these off with the .22 further on we lamped the first fox sitting around 250yrds out. wind was a bit strong and i knew rifle wasnt zeroed at this distance so tryied to squeek him in he was having none of it.so out came the homemade caller that frenchieboy had showed us how to make with the old clothes pegs and some tape.bingo he came in like a greyhound had to shout to stop him at around 90yrds.bang a clean kill.later on another field spotted a fox out in the field so walked round to get wind in our face and called him again using the homemade caller another came running in and stopped around 130yrds think he made wind of us and realised he wasnt coming in closer.so checked the background, safe shot so took aim and another thud and cleanly shot fox.overall a good night seen lots of deer and a few badgers to but the job was for the fox and a happy farmer once again.hear are a few pics.
