I just spent a few minutes typing a profanity-free post on the swearing topic.

I come to post it and the bloody post has been locked. :good::huh::huh:

I haven't really got a problem with swearing/no swearing on this forum. I don't know enough about the cost of running a forum to make any comment about loss of sponsorship/folding etc.

I do however feel confident in saying that if you have got kids at School, they will have heard every swear word in the book irrespective of whether you swear in front of them or not. :o

You can gargle with bleach and have the cleanest mouth in the universe, but the little ******* will still hear plenty of medieval adjectives in the playground. :o

That fact has been around for the last 40 years as I know of, so don't treat us like kids.

Are we going to get issued with hair shirts, sack cloths and ashes with our badges. :o

Lets not get too P.C. on here. Mr B. Liar and his cronies stick enough of that into us already. :yp:

Mate the topic was closed, because it wasn't going anywhere. You can debate till you are blue in the face, but we have taken the choice that there will be no swearing on the forum. I have recieved many messages in support of this. It's not going to change, and is now in the rules of the site. End of.

To save you reading the other topic again here you are:

"we have a no-swearing policy. We should have had it from the start, but didn't because we hoped people would be responsible enough. Pigeonwatch has a wide audience with tens of thousands of unique visitors each month, and so is a good advertising tool for newcomers and outsiders to the sport. In this respect we think a policy of no swearing is a good thing for the site."

We have employed the same policy as the shooting magazines, I don't think you will find many people complaining that their articles don't have swearing in them. :good:
