the escort's stock is ridiculously short apparently, even with extension pads on the back wouldn't be long enough for me. had a quick look at the franchi, looks pretty good to me, just wondering those of you who have one, what is the fore end like? is it quite thick in your hand or do u get on ok with it? can't really tell from the pictures. the action looks really long, is this the case or again are the photo's deceptive? any idea of stock length?

cheers for all the info and help guys, much appreciated, gonna go have a look at some in the next couple of weeks, cheers,

The fore end is quite fat, and pretty long but the gun overall is very light and it doesn't feel uncomfy at all. I do only have very small hands though so if you're of normal size and not a short ar$3 like me I'm sure you wouldn't have any problem with it.

I also have an Escort synthetic which I'm selling (already provisionally sold!) and found that to be a very good clean gun, extremely good for the money but compared to the Franchi it weighs a ton. Fine for the odd wildfowling trip but not for carrying long distcnce or decoying all day. It does have a short stock, again fine for me at 5 foot 8 but not for most.

Definately happy with the Franchi, seems a good light all purpose gun that looks great too.
