To me this looks too unatural. I place them down in the pattern facing any direction creating an element of randomness. What's the best way? Sorry just seen the post further down the page. I think if you search the forum for similar topics you will find the right answer is, the one that works on the day Both work on their day, so best advice in my opinion is try out one method, and if it doesn't work then change it.
