dodeer
I'm off rook shooting on a famous Dorset estate tommorow and its on barley.Should i use pigeon decoys as well to reassure the rooks or is that a total waste of time? Do i need to be well hidden etc. Has anyone got any good recipes for them? Thanks.
Quercus
If the rooks are feeding on the barley, you will probably find that there are a lot of pigeon feeding there as well. So take your pigeon decoys along, can't do any harm. If the laid patches are out in the field, you might want to try just sitting in the crop. Pay special attention to concealing your hands and face and try not to move too much. I find that floaters work well for rooks, especially if you are shooting over a standing crop. Good luck
