Our new year plans went tits up tnite coz of illness so I decided to cook the enemy a meal once the kids were tucked up.

All veg picked tday off my allotment and the pheasant shot earlier in the week.

Boiled baby turnips with a butter coating

Leeks and cabbage sauted with bacon, garlic and red onion in butter

Garlic sliced tates

Pheasant breast in a creamy mushroom, madiera and brandy sauce garnished with fresh parsley

Followed by an english cheese board and port

One of the best things I've knocked up for yonks

PS

Excuse the table mat my boys use it for drawing on, lol!!

Great stuff!! Try tossing your turnips with a little olive oil and cumin before roasting if you want to try something a little different?

I often throw mine in a big tray with peppers, red onions, chick peas, mushrooms etc for an easy dinner with fish etc
