andy_s
Does anyone know a website with sample sounds of different deer calls. I ask because I have just watched last weeks Fieldsports Britain and heard the sound of a muntjac calling in a wood and have heard a very similar sound on some permission I have although I've always assumed it was roe. We have plenty of Roe and Red deer but no one I know has ever seen muntjac there although I have seen them not to far away so wouldn't be surprised if we do have some. Thanks....Andy. Beardo
Muntjac will come in to a buttolo call. It is illegal to use electronic calls to bring deer in to shoot.
scolopax
Muntjac have crossed the M180 and are in the S****horpe area, although only in small numbers at the moment.
andy_s
To be honest I was just interested in hearing the noise to see if it's what I've heard on my permission. Not particularly interested in trying to call them in as I don't have FAC. Scolopax, you're right they have crossed to this side of the M180. I've seen them a couple of miles away from my permission but not for a few years now so I wonder if there aren't any there now. Would be good to see some more though. scolopax
I saw fresh slots a month ago, more towards the airport but still north of the motorway. They are seen occasionally, one chap waiting for foxes saw a buck and a doe with kid at heel one morning last summer.
