Hi all, Just wondered if any of you had trouble sending air rifles via the post or parcelforce before? Im sending my old BSA meteor from Essex up to Blackpool for a part exchange deal. Im lucky in that my mum works for the post office, but im just basically wondering if you guys have experienced any problems before. Ive got relevant phone numbers for BASC and Blackpool air rifles handy in case I get any problems.

There might be a legal angle in sending something that looks like/is a firearm in the post. I would really make sure that you can do it legally before you try to. Getting something like that taken away/nicked by parcelfarce would really suck.

my brother sent my air rifle to me form Wales to Guildford and there nothing wrong with it, just make sure there is lots of bubble wrap and it helps if you put it in a box so that it doesnt look gun shaped.

also i would get it insured, for £10 i think it is covered for up to £500 damage, just look at the post office web site it it tells you all about what can and cant be sent in the post

Ok, well Ive put it in a long box and its bubblewrapped well. The only dead giveaway is the address lol, but I checked the parcel force website and it said nothing about air rifles. Its not a firearm and is well below 12ftlbs so it should be ok. Hopefully I wont have any issues :-/
