Sandbank
Why would you avoid avoid Lioness, Gold/Silver Mallards etc.?Because I got a 390 silver mallard...and was wondering if there is any problems with it? Yes as already stated, it is was a price consideration. I have a Gold Mallard which still looks great after 16 years and still gets some admiring glances from those that assume good stocks are only seen on SO9s. However beauty is only skin deep! I have recently purchased an A300 Outlander (new model). Looks really plain but handles well and (so far) functions flawlessly.

Sandbank
Did you get many problems with the 390? As I think I mentioned in a recent thread, replaced a connecting rod (first in 16 years), Otherwise no problems from the AL390. A300 equally well made, you should not get too many problems from a Beretta. The ES100 is possibly one to avoid however!

paul87
If you want a finer fore-end then the 391 is the one to go for. I picked mine up for £400 from someone on Gun Watch and have to say it was in mint condition and just needed a clean when I got it. I have a 302 and have seen plenty of 303's and the fore-ends are very chunky in comparison. Suits me ok though as i have chunky hands. But keep your eye out for a 391 you may come across a bargain as i did.
