always worth a squeak

had a few hours on some laid barley yesterday

set up down the side of the field with my back to a small wood

had a few shots then went quiet for twenty minutes

so decided to have a squeak up, within moments an adult dog fox came running

down the edge of the barley straight towards me, nicely concealed in my hide

from past experience i didn't let it get too close and at twenty feet let it have it

i have shot many foxes like this and a stoat and a weasel especially from standing corn

have even shot a cub trying to make off with a dead bird from my pattern

always worth a squeak after a quiet spell
