Down South
Bertie, on one of our shoots we only put down ex layers. Been doing it for around 7 years now. Don't expect a big return on them at first as these birds will soon disperse in the general area no matter how well you look after them. Also, they are survivers from past seasons and know the game. What you can expect is to drive up local population and if you have shoots nearby an influx of cock birds. There is still time for them to breed aswell. Over the last few seasons we have shot over 100% of what was put down and left a health population for the next season. Good luck.

Thanks mate that is my true intention, to build up a nice wild pheasent population! I know it will take a few seasons, but to me its well worth it as i'm putting something back into the sport i love!
