Hello Guys,

Well it just been half term and I have a step son thats very keen on Clay Shoot - he has learnt the basics and is safe enough at the moment whilst someone is keeping an eye on him (BTW he is only 13) he is at the stage now where he needs to put what is learnt into practise and get some cartidges through the barrels.

So this half trem we have been doing the tours of the grounds just to get in some variety. We have shot at the following sites and some we like some more that others - here are our comments - what are your favourite grounds and why BTW we come fron North Wales so our comments are about ground in the North West:-

NWSS - good for beginners - very very Safety Orientated - good shop - targets change little - seem to scoul and look down at the youngsters - good gunsmith onsite.

Fauxdelga - out in the sticks - weather can be bad - this is my lads favourite - the club house in nice - the food on sale is par excellent - me - there is something about the place I just dont like and dont know why and the scenary is grab this time of year.

Flint Clay Target Club - a Small Club - rough and ready - the club house is an old lorry container - this would be one of my favourites due to the welcoming atmosphere - targets change little but I really enjoy this place.

Catton Hall - tends to get very busy - nice clubhouse - nice scenerey - a little impersonal.

Doveridge - my part of the world - good shop - good club house - youngers shoot half price - a wide variety of disciplines - again I like.

MSCS - again a like for me although it is a bit of a trek - like the setting good practise birds for the lad - nice facilities.

Pentre Halkyn - probably our nearest ground again I like - nice welcoming place - again the clubhouse is a little basic but adequate again the kids shoot half price always an adavantage.

Look forward to hearing your thoughs and any recommendations.

Best Regards

Pat
