Salop Matt
This was the start ! http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s441/salopsniper/bare1.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s441/salopsniper/bare2.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s441/salopsniper/bare3.jpg Now the plan for my CZ 452 .17HMR American heavy varmint barrel was to recover it in the produc detailed in my first post ! The plan was also to ask my uncle to help me do it as he builds modle planes and uses simlar sticky films etc and is a brillient artist so has a great eye for things. All this was untill my farther got wind of my plan..............Thats right, his face dropped a mile and it was a clasic case of sibling rivalry between him and his brother ! So i had to abort plan A and go to plan B....... Plan B = My Dad the engineer who has to over engineer everything to the finest detail......but am glad he does as it means his work is spot on ! The product says allow upto 3 hours but on the online video it was done in an hour and Phil hardman did his in a little over that ! Lesson 1 learnt..... Engineers need lots of time to prep for the job and in this case 1 hour a slice of fresh baked choc cake and a brew ! Eventually we got started ................ an hour ater all parts warming and drawn and meassured and meassured some more we fianlly made a start ! I had told KA i would be a max of 3 hours as my dads very handy with this sort of thing ! How wrong was i......... Finally after 4.5 hours we were done Brain surgery must take less time than this perfectionist ! lol Anyway this is the finished thing, excuse the poor photos but the only camera i have is on my phone currently ! But never the les a great job by my dad ! http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s441/salopsniper/camo1.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s441/salopsniper/camo2.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s441/salopsniper/camo3.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s441/salopsniper/camo4.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s441/salopsniper/camo5.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s441/salopsniper/camo6.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s441/salopsniper/camo7.jpg And hopefully you can see these pics ? Salop Matt
£49.99 for the kit, £6.99 for the P&P and its couriered and the service is excellant as i said before ! The stuff is good and am happy, its fine on all of it appart from around the pistol grip is tricky but plenty of warmth to work with and good over laps should do the job nicely, if you do get a kit and want to PM me i will give you my number and have a chat on the phone if you like and try to help as much as i can ! :-D ATB Matt
MM
the kit is good quality vinyl and is well cut,but even after following all the guys instructions on cleaning and prep,i just could not get the ******* stuff to adhere to a synthetic stock.i think it would be ok on wood, but dont really know.shame, but you live and learn... why not have a go at this mate, its dead easy. this job cost me about £15.00 and a few bits out of the garden Ill try and do something else next week and show you how. Salop Matt
The only problem with Hydro dip and any spray paint is its for ever or a heck lot of work ! So if you get board of it or regret it or mess it up then your £15 of paint isnt so well spent when you have to put it right or sell it again. Salop Matt
well there was plenty left over from the kit so managed to get it on my Daystate MK4 sub 12fpe air rifle to, although would never put it on the wood !
