kent
Hi reading a new book at present "through a dogs eyes" by Jenifer Arnold (warning there are some real tear jerkers in [/i]it). Anyway its about assistance dogs and thier training etc. hence the sad stories! Fair warning people (inc kids) and dogs drop like flies in it. Anyhow I came across this training method were the trainer gives a command the dog understands like LIE DOWN then carries out the action them selves also with a "just do it". Anyhow the idea is to implant a copying command. These assistance dogs have to open cuboards, fridges etc. so i can see it has uses. Later a trigger command is introduced of course. I wonder if anyone has experiance of this? Edited March 15, 2012 by kent
WGD
There was an article in ST a while back which described a similar training method. I didn't fancy it much, I can't get far enough into the brambles to flush the rabbits, and I'm stuffed if I'd be sitting to flush when I did
