hoggysreels
Has anyone heard of a gun cabinet manufactured by the company Jaycab ... it's a 4 gun cabinet ... I've google'd the name and not come up with much ... cheers
joe1978
My 6-gun is made by Jaycab with a locking internal top box. I got mine 2nd hand from a friend of a friend. Seems as well built as a big metal box can be. The 'holders' for each gun are welded steel covered with adhesive foam strip and not just high density foam, if that makes any difference to you. hoggysreels
Hi Joe ... this one looks like new, its an as mentioned previously a 4 gun cabinet and it has as you rightly mentioned a welded top gun rack covered with adhesive cushioning type material ... there isn't any lockable box within the cabinet itself, yours being a 6 gun probably enabled them to fit an idividual box within the cabinet. I was curious as to not being able to find any info on the company Jaycab and the one I picked up being in an as new condition ... maybe it had been stored for sometime prior to me getting hod of it, who knows eh! ... maybe they went bankrupt or ceased trading for some reason ? .... but yep like you said it seems as good as anything else on the market and will do the job okay, just got to find a secure lockable box/safe of sorts to keep catridges in now ... If it is for shotgun cartridges, you don't need a safe to store them. If it is for FAC ammo, I picked up an electronic combination jobbie for £40 on amazon that is nearly a 12 inch cube inside, decent storage size, and the FEO said it was perfectly OK for ammo/bolts/etc. Edited April 3, 2012 by Bloke
hoggysreels
Yep understand no official requirement regards SG cartridge storage, albeit it comonsense comes into it ... I've looked at those digital combo safes and they certainly are value for money considering the cost of gun safes/cabinets .... wanted one that will hold a minimum of 500 cartridges more if possible, certainly seems to make sense ...
