FAC pellets.

My apologies first off if this kind of topic has been covered before, I did a bit of a search but couldnt find what im looking for.

A friend of mine has a FAC falcon fn19 , its firing at 31ftlbs, he had a slight problem when first buying it with inacuracy but after reading up it could have needed some pellets through the barrel, it was sent off and he was advised to use bisley magnums. He has started using the gun alot more recently and we are not sure wether its the pellets but it only seems to be acurate for a short amount of time, say twenty shots. After seeing a recent thread it seems that the bisley's are a bit loopy so could this be the problem? I have looked at other pellets like jsb exacts and aa field heavys but they are not as heavy as the bisleys, does the weight matter that much?

Any advice/ tips would be much appreciated!

I have a TITEN MCO 10. Falcon bought Titan out and renamed the MCO 10 to the FN 19. :good:

Have you put it through a crono after 20 shots. :hmm:

At 30 ftlb 20 full power shots is not bad out of an FN19 the air cylinder is only small for a gun doing 30 ftlb unregulated.

You could have a regulator fitted and drop it to 25 ftlb i find thats an ideal power.

A lot of Pellets tend to distort when fired out of a 30 ftlb gun. :cry1:

Bisley Magnums have a strongish skirt hence being more accurate by not distorting in flight. :good:

I have used H&N Rabbit Magnums in the past they are more like a bullet shape and do not distort in flight and will stand being shot out of 70 ftlb guns. :good:

They are heavy so they do a lot of damage on impact Roger Wabbit stone dead on impact. :yahoo:

Happy. :shoot::shoot::shoot:

To be honest i think you would be struggling to get a regulator and is it worth it.

You wouldn`t get much change out of £100 for a regulator and for what it would give you is it worth it.

You do get Regulated powered shots and you might get 25 shots per fill instead of 20 but at the end of the Day you still have a small Air chamber. :sad1:

This is why guns that are doing 30 ftlb are usually fitted with a 400cc air bottle like the Rapid 7 or the BSA Superten or R10 they are regulated as standard and have a 400cc buddy bottle that gives you close to 100 shots at 30 ftlb per fill. :good:

The Titen or FN19 was never designed to be a FAC gun even at 12 ftlb it only gives 60 to 70 full power shots.

At the end of the day how many shots do you take on a hunting session. :hmm:

I just take a 3 litre 300 bar bottle with me and leave it in the car so if i need a refill.

The big plus with the FN19 is its very accurate and light so very easy to carry about the woods.

Rapid 7 and BSA super 10 are heavy because they have a regulator and a 400cc buddy bottle.

I would go down another route on ebay there have been a number of 300 bar 1.5 litre pony bottles going cheap they are light enough to take out with you for top ups.

And you can just fill the pony bottle of your big bottle.

I would save your money and put it towards a FAC Super 10 and keep your FN19. :good:

I got a FAC 25 ftlb BSA Super 10 with scope and Silencer for £250 of GUNSTAR and its mint. :yahoo:.
