vole
Bought a used rifle , for some reason the previous owner who had otherwise taken care of it chose to keep the sling swivel studs . There is a bit of damage to the wood . I have some new screws but wondered how best to prepare the wood and secure the new ones . Thanks for any replies . Bewsher500
drill out the hole cleanly, get or make a dowel of similar or if possible the same wood. (you could stain a hardwood dowel to match if you had to !) using a quality glue fix dowel in place. finish off the surface and redrill for new stud just off centre so you are cutting slightly into the stock and also into the dowel
