subbyc
Hi guys, I have got a remy 552 speedmaster and want to fit sling swivels to it. Has anyone else tried it and if so did you fix the fore end swivel to the woodwork or to the barrel or even the tube mag? My forestock can easily be pulled away from the barrel as it's not fixed at the front end so I am concerned a sling will eventually snap the woodwork. The barrel is 18mm diameter and the nearest barrel swivel is 20mm and would have to sit out to one side due to the undermounted tube magazine. I haven't measured the tube's diameter but am concerned that the tube itself wouldn't be strong enough to take the swivel and hence kink or bend thus rendering the tube jiggered! I've even seen a video on youtube where someone has drilled through the forestock and has fitted a brass rod that goes horizontally from left to right between the barrel and the tube thus removing the flex problem I mentioned earlier. Any experience/advice would be much appreciated. Colin
Wharf Rat
I bought a universal set of swivels from Ant Supplies. Loads to chose from.
subbyc
Hey Wharf Rat, I had a look at the selection but wasn't too sure which would do the best job. I've been advised to avoid barrel sling swivels on another forum though!
Wharf Rat
I put a barrel swivel on my Beretta O/U - works fine. I used a Gamo universal sling on my Franchi auto, no swivels to mess about with and about £5 from my local gun shop.
