Hi, just starting to have a go at reloading, but want run my Reload Recipe past you. 12g carts, cx2000 primer, 17.7 grains of reddot and 30grams of No 7 shot with a fibre wad.

I got the recipe off the lee load-all junior chart.

Thanks Marcus

looks like you are having colum hight isues .the ones that have dipped in is ether a short powder or shot drop or the wad and packing is wrong :good:

yup,

what wad are you using?

the hulls and powder types are different from european loads. european powders are very low density to fill up the hull.

the recipe sounds fine, as a light load. are you using fibre?

i wouldn even bother with the over shot card, more expence, not needed.

are you absolutely dead set on 30g?

first i just chewed through aload of reddot data. i would use a minimum of 19grains with fibre and will still be "well in" safe pressures. thats with 32g shot too.

i would in future use 4mm powdercard, and 20mm fibre wad. it should fit alot better. i use those same components for 32g /28g /and 24g fibre loads. (with the 24g loads i use 2x powder cards.)

i dont use reddot, although it has a great range. are you weighing your drops or are you using a chart?

as an alternate load,

use cheddite 70mm case

20 grain reddot,

2x powdercard

18mm fibre

28grams (1oz) lead shot

crimp

it may fit better? i`m just throwing that out there...

Hi Cook, thanks for the info I will try a few with your specs.

What I am looking for is a cart that has a good range that can be used for clays and woodies.

The reason I am using reddot is that was listed on the junior lee load-all.

Prob just need to practice some more.

Thanks Marcus
