Theskyfox
Hi All, I went out on my first bit of land to shoot....Its only about 5 acres, but I had one hell of a good time today . I went there at 10am in the morning with my Hw95k .177 and set up a hide by a tree until late. I had a full 270 degree viewing angle of the target area and waited. Throughout the day I got a total of 6 doves and 1 woodpigeon and a near-miss magpie. Was a fantastic day and Im going again on thursday!!! Logun penetrators really do a great and clean job and the landowner was quite impressed too! The funny thing is the hide worked so well I had doves landing on the tree just 2/3ft above my head! I couldn't get a good shooting angle into the tree so I waited for them to come down before shooting them. Just a quick question, do woodie decoys work for doves? Only I can't seem to find any specifically made for collared doves and Im wondering if they are just relying on the plain stupidity of doves to fly to a simple trick like grain on the floor....I'm taking the decoys on thursday anyway so I'll find out then anyway, but It'd be nice to find out beforehand to know what to expect... -Andrew Comments welcome :-)
