Jonno243
A friend is looking to offload an FAC air rifle as he is not renewing his tickets due to encroaching old age and a recent shoulder injury. I am currently undecided whether I want to apply for a variation and add it to my cabinet, or to sell it on for him (it is currently held by my friendly RFD). My question either way is what would be a fair price for the following: .22 Daystate Huntsman Mk 2 @ 40 ft/lb c/w Simmons 3-9x40 scope, moderator and Axsor stirrup pump. The rifle was purchased new on 1st July 1997 and is as good as pristine. The only blemish on it that I can see I would describe as a tiny dent / scratch in the woodwork, perhaps 10mm long (looks like it has been stood against a metal fencepost perhaps, or maybe pressed against something in the car), that would easily steam out if it bothered someone that much. Cheers.
bullet boy
How many shots per charge and how much is he asking for it? Im not interested in it myself but thinking of you.
Jonno243
It's probably running around 40 spc I would guess; and as yet he has no idea how much to ask for it. I've made him aware that the market for FAC airguns is a lot slower than for sub-12's and offered to find out what the market rate for it would be, rather foolishly as it turns out because I have absolutely no idea myself!!! I work away from home and the company internet nazi's will not let me look at Gunstar or Guntrader whilst I am here, so I was just looking for an indication of what fair market value might be before I get home. I have a couple of fields that are plagued with crows and full of sheep, so I am leaning toward the "variation and use it myself route" to avoid the hassle of using a rimmy in a field full of livestock but either way would still be looking to make sure that the going rate is paid...
