-Mongrel-
Unfortunately the nudity is mine! So, at the weekend I did a round of sporting. Now I have a bit of a back problem at the moment that it would appear was affecting my gun mount, I have attached a couple of pics of light bruising on my shoulder to indicate where the butt was mounting. Now, the thing is, before I realised that I was mounting badly...I was having a cracking round! Two stands for 19 hits is miles above my average!!! So, does this suggest a gun fit issue? if so what do I need to alter? Sorry for subjecting you to my pasty white scrawnyness...
Gerry31
Your gun is mounted incorrectly if you feel were the bruise on tour shoulder and move inwards you will feel a depression this is where you gun should fit it appears you arnt mounting it correctly due to poor fit
-Mongrel-
I'm aware that this mount was wrong as it was battering me! It doesn't normally and I never feel discomfort let alone bruising even after a 70 bird round, my point is, I was shooting well above my normal average with the gun mis-mounted and I'm wondering if it's poor gun fit that's holding back my shooting normally when my butt is 'in the pocket'? I'm thinking that I may need a little more cast (?) in the stock, how do I do a home check? I'm wondering how valid doing a 'blind' mount ie eyes closed in front of the mirror and then seeing how my rib alignment is? sevy
Your mount can be down to a no of things , cast , stock length , stance . Get a good gun fitter to check it with you , a good level one coach local should be able to do this for you , see CPSA website . I have a mate who is sussex way I can ask him if he will help out , AA FITASC shooter and a bloody dam good instructor .
