steve0146
Been painting the widgeon deeks last weekend as the paint had come off and only used them a handful of times. Someone came out bait digging just as it was getting dark and nothing came near me! Had two duck land in the spread but too dark to see, so packed up. Cracking sunset though A morning flight today was really quiet. Didnt even hear any birds. Really late on, a skein of geese flew up the middle of the estuary followed by another pack. With no cover except a washed up branch stuck out in the mud, me and the dog trudged out to try and get in the flight line. As we got there, a pair came straight for us. It produced a nice left and right, which the dog did well to retrieve in the mud. As we settled down, another pair came wide but in range. I dropped the second bird cleanly and again, the dog did me proud. I normally use a pump but it is getting some work done, so I dusted off the old browning semi I hardly use. Glad no one was watching as I was trying to furiously pump it inbetween shots!
