ziplex Posted October 12, 2006 Author Report Share Posted October 12, 2006 Imagine an earthy/fungusy/mushroomy/musky flavour but on a huge scale.All you need is a small shaving into an omlette or risotto to get the full effect. Hope you have a full wallet!If not go to your local supermarket as some stock small bottles of "truffle oil" which is basically an oil flavoured with truffle.This is the cheaper,but less tasty option but if you don`t like it`s taste,unlikely but I can`t eat/smell eggs without retching,then it will be easier on the wallet. Bon Appetit! Sorted some black truffle oil from Sainsbury's and tryed it dribbled over some scrambled egg. Very nice it is too! Ta for the pointer. We quite often cook up a risotto so i'll give that a try, talking of which I tryed saffron, (tiny pinch), the other day in a risotto and thought it was awful!...........as with everything it's a personal thing but not for me.
