After reading a lot of advice on getting into shooting, I decided to have a look around the local clubs. Went to one last week that was ok, got a price list and left. Turned up unexpected at Gloucester clay shooting club today to have a look, what a helpful place to be. I spent nearly an hour chatting with a few of the regulars, and have already been offered the use of one chaps gun until I get my license. I really wasn't expecting that sort of welcome, so I paid up the membership (£10 as it is the end of the season nearly) and said I'd go back next week. One of the guys there was supposed to be in 2nd place in the british championship, but whatever, I was watching them shoot and some of them didn't miss any of the shots I seen! Got some serious competition going on there I think!

Hi

Just remember to enjoy yourself and dont get to into the compition stuff at present.

I hit some and Miss alot, but I enjoy firing the SG, obviously I try to improve on my own scores, but unless you are going to spend a fortune on shooting every week you will not keep up with the guys who are hitting the high numbers.

I expect the guys who are hitting the high 90s have spent Thousands over the years..

Im hitting around the 30s/50 at present so more then happy with this.

But watch these guys, see how they hold the gun, how they stand etc, where they are hitting the targets, its all good training and will not cost you a penny :drinks:

Good Luck

Spaniel
