THE GRIFF
I was out on the marsh this evening and could see something out of the corner of my eye in the reeds, I thought it might of been a mallard that I winged this morning so sent the pup in to retrieve it, she came back with a very ill looking cormorant still alive. I took it off her and let it go, it slowly swam off but wasn't very healthy. It had either been shot or hit by a car I would presume, should I or should I say legally could I of put it out of its misery or did I do the right thing by just letting it go. Wildfowler12
I think you probably did the right thing, although I wouldn't condem anyone if they shot it in that situation. I had a similar experience last year with a seagull that looked poisoned. As hard as it was I left it too, I don't think it's worth the agro, imagine if an anti saw it!
