mikesy
Hi , I'm hoping someone can explain what the problem is with my Baikal O/U. After firing one shot (either barrel) and I break the gun to reload , both carts eject even though I have fired one shot but if i use my snap caps , the ejectors work fine everytime . I'm not that knowledgeable with the workings of the mechanisms but I was hoping its an easy fix. Any help/advice would be appreciated. lees
There's no recoil to cock for the 2nd barrel when you use the snap caps, you won't be able to fire the 2nd chamber if you try, so that doesn't help diagnose the fault (I don't know anymore to help sorry). mikesy
Hi Lees, it's a double trigger ejector so it wont use the recoil to cock the second barrel like a single trigger.
longgun
mikesy, I suppose you have an old Baikal or something wrong with, possibly, ejector spring(s). I would look at ejector springs first. Maybe loosen. But, again possibly, it is gunsmith job. Meanwhile, if there is a selector, please try to switch it for first and shoot again. BTW, recoil cannot cock anything. Either switch to other trigger and disconnect trigger-hammer link or just disconnect. In this case, second one. mikesy
thanks Longgun, yes its an oldish baikal but there is no selector. Went out today and fired a few 7 1/2 carts and it worked fine.Yesterday I was using 6's. Strange
longgun
You're welcome but could not help so much. Anyway.. I am afraid you will meet the same issue with relatively powerfull cartridges. I hope won't.
