Killshott
Folks, I am the proud owner of a older model Lanber Sporting Deluxe 12g which I would like to de-lacquer and re-finish. I have read other threads on the forum for info but my recoil pad does not have screws in it to remove, it appears to be stuck on somehow. Can anyone tell me the way to remove it without damaging it or the woodwork?
cumbrian shooter
I have same gun they are screwed on but hidden by rubber. Prod it with a screw driver were u would normaly find the screws they should be there! I did my lanber stock a few weeks back, what a difference
Walker56
I removed the stock on my Lanber couple of weeks back to clean and oil the action as Cumbrian shooter says screw heads are hidden with rubber plugs . When removing mine I found out one of the screws had been glued in with type of wood filler because some clown had taken the threads out of the wood and it just turned not tightened so be careful when replacing. Killshott
Spot on. Thanks Gents. My Recoil pad is pretty worn down so it looked like one piece, but as you said, the screws were hidden by rubber bungs. Cumbrian Shooter, do you have any pics of your finished stock? Did you go with Tru-oil or Walnut/Linseed oil finish?
