kwagga10
Went out last friday night on one of SA Shooters permissions to see if we can find old charlie. There is/was a clever one that was named 'the clown' by Werner, he slipped us the finger on more than one occasion...Werner bought a new fox call, so he tried that and it worked a treat. Werner managed to bring him in up to about 40-50 yards, I followed him in the scope without the light and after a while Werner could see him without a scope, you can immagine his reaction when I didn't pull trigger...Werner switched on the light, the .222 made a noise and the fox dropped. When I got there I saw the dark chest, it looked very nice. Werner also shot one with his .308, he didn't have any bullets left for his .243. he loaded new loads but with the 'lovely' wheather, we haven't had a chance to go and try them out. The story behind the .222 is, the gamekeeper came to me one day and said I would like to give you something for helping me out, I said okay, and we carried on with business as usual. Later that day he said that he wanted to give me his rifle, I first said no (bit shocked), he insisted that I should take it, otherwise he was going to sell it. So after a while he said that we should go out that night then I can give the rifle a go. This was the result... The rifle had a 4-12x56 Lisenfeld scope on and wasn't screwcut, so I got the screwcut done and changed the scope for one of my old Bushnells. The Lisenfeld has got a very thick crosshair which I don't like.

huddy44
The dark foxes are unusual, I have shot litterally hundreds of foxes over the years and I had never seen one with a black belly until this one which I shot Nov 2012. It looks like the one you shot is very similar..... Well done
