Rhysmac
I had my pond dug out of a bog last spring and the most duck i have ever had is 8 mallard and 2 teal on it! There are a few ducks at other ponds in the area but i just dont know why im not getting any numbers, im feeding them a bucket of crushed barley almost every night and when i do get ducks there is 4 max! I have tried putting a few decoys out to coax them in but this has little effect, any ideas ?
Shoot-rhino
Are they eating a bucket a night?

hanky
How deep are your margins where you are feeding ? Are there many ducks in your area ? You wont pull em in if they aint there in the first place, you need to keep at it all year round to have any real sucess if there are not many about, one bucket full a week mid season shoud keep them interested, or half a bucket twice a week if you live close
jackar7
Try getting half a dozen call ducks next season to help draw them in and as hanky says feed early if they are around.
Rhysmac
I was thinking about putting 30 out, would this help draw more in or would they **** off?
Whistling wings
if the other ducks in the area are gettin the feeding they and relatively undisturbed its going to be hard to shift them . try maybe changing your feed to something maybe the others arent using ( wheat , maize , millet etc ) and feed in shallow margins . try a few nest tunnels around your pond during the closed as a interest that might hold a few wild duck on your pond although success rate first season isnt great but you never know .
