Rogc
Does anyone know where I can purchase a replacement firing pin and up rated spring for my Ruger M77MK2 .223. I have purchased a lot of surplus 5.56 ammunition, and tried this for the first time today at the range. Now this rifle cycles .223 ammo ok, not one misfire, however with the surplus it was almost 60% failure. The dimples in the primer seem shallower in the surplus, and I'm told that the primers in surplus ammo are harder. I tried the surplus in another rifle and it fine, so it looks like I need a stronger spring and or a new firing pin. Any help appreciated. deershooter
Are you sure that the 5.56 do not have excessive head space ?Sick a piece of masking tape on the cartridge head cut round by scraping with a Stanly blade to leave a ring of tape with two layers of tape the bolt should scrape the tape if you can get more tape on the cartridge its not suitable remove the firing pin before refitting the bolt and loading live rounds in the house Deershooter
