dazzyboi Posted October 25, 2006 Report Share Posted October 25, 2006 First time on a clay ground in 3 years, i thought i would need it with the 3 year shooting break iv had. I done really well for my first time, the bloke was really pleased, i hit 45 birds out of 100, but i managed to hit some cracking shots. First he took me to a stand for a simple crosser and a low driven bird. Done well on the low driven but was having some problems with the crosser, shooting behind, abit of lead and a re-position of stance and i was away. Next stand i had another pair, this one was a left to right crosser and a going away bird. The left to right crosser i did ok on, the going away bird i got once he told me to semi-mount the gun, as by the time i was mounting it the bird was behind the tree infront of me. Once i semi mounted before the shot i was away with them fine. Next trap was a right to left crosser and a right slow crosser, these i had no problems with. Next stand was a fast going away and a bolting rabbit, once i corrected the low shots on the going away birds, these were fine, rabbits i had no problems with. Next are the driven Took me a few attempts to get the high ones, as i was under-estimating the lead needed for these, i had a low driven, and a high driven bird, the high driven seemed to get me abit, but once i got used to the lead i was hitting nearly all of them. Had a really good time, and one thing that shocked me was they gave me the 100 clays for free £25 can go towards the next 100 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
