fenboy
After two weeks with no shooting due to lack of birds I was determined to have a go this week . Had a drive round my permissions looking at the rape and still not a bird to be found , So once again I went home empty handed. Did a bit of gardening and it was so nice out I decided to go have another look around . I eventually found a few birds drifting across a field of winter wheat , not enough to get the heart thumping but enough to think I may get the odd shot . Anyway time was ticking away and I decided to give it a go without bothering with all the modern gizmos , it was very refreshing not having to lump batterys and magnets across the field By the time I got the hide up and a dozen shells out it was 13.30 and I had a slow trickle of birds until I called it a day at 15.30 ending in 18 picked for 23 shots .
