IXI KARL IXI
Ok, first off I may have placed this in the wrong section as its part todo with crafts as well, that said here we ago. I shoot air rifles so don't know popular bullet cals, I want to make a leather ammo wallets/pouches I have some ideas but unsure what size to make them as not sure on what cal to make. Only so many wallets and purses people in the family want lol so thought I would try my hand. So my questions What would be the most useful cal to make them fit. (I may trade them for days out shooting or stuff if any good) Also I know I can't buy a .xxx cal bullet due to me not having a FAC and rifle so on, but can I own a casing or a bullet with no powder in? I know people can reload shells so could it be done with no primer and powder? If so where can I buy something like that?
JonathanL
Yes, you can own inert rounds and cases, also bullets which aren't section 5. Good rounds would be .308 as it's popular and is the same diameter (apart from the neck) as a few other rounds. Another good one would be .223 for the same reason. J. Alycidon
The stock cartridge case holder has elasticated shell holders. You should be able to find case dimenetions on ammunition manufacturers web sites, Norma, Winchester, Remmington, etc. Popular cases for fox shooters are based around the 223 caliber. The others I would look at are 243 ( this is the same case as 308 and 260), it should also fit 22.250 and maybe 6.5x55. If I was doing one only then 243 and sell it mainly to deer stalkers. IXI KARL IXI
Cheers people I will have a look at the calibers yous have suggested. It's more as a hobby something to fill my time, always good to have a excuse to go to the shed for a hour or two.
