Game Bag
Hi Dr Fox, Just finished testing my mates new protected controller which he received this morning these were my results.... Runs great on his rotary, no problems  Also tried it out on a duff old motor from the shed & it cut out straight away, just like it says it should so if yours were tripping out I would say that you def have a problem with your motors even if you don't realise it Opened it up, looks well made, the case looks ok too, def will do the job Verdict - well worth the peace of mind and a good price too. Heppy1148
Right guys, you are all talking poo!! The reason why your batteries aint lasting aint got that much to do with the speed controller alone. The main thing is the weather, the speed set to maximum, and the low AMP. But batteries DO NOT work anywhere near as well in the cold. If you can insulate them all the better. Hope it helps Heppy
kipper
Heppy1142, As for us "all talking poo" where in any of these posts does it say we were tasting them in the middle of a frosty field . the point of using a speed controller is not to preserve battery life but to determin a speed on the pigeon magnet machine that attracts pigeont into the pattern easier rather than having the birds spinning around looking like they have been caught up in the middle of a tornado. I think you have got hold of the wrong end of tha stick mate. preserving battery life is just another advantage of using a speed controller. colin.y
i use a speed controller all the time, i am using a home made magnet with a car battery(small) lasts all day no probs. i have found a site that supplies cheap controllers ready built or in kit form around £7 i think heres the link have a look speed controllers i find a speed controller very usefull when the wind is variable especially if your out all day and it starts light winds and then increases just wind the controller up and away you go
kipper
Colin, You can buy them complete for under £9 posted. From *Bay there a tried and tested unit and are also available in realtree camo. I never thaught of increasing the speed of the magnet if the wind increases. good tip and it makes sense when you think about it. :look: kipper :yp:
