alex.mc
I shouldered a secondhand TX in an RFD about 3 months ago, and didn't like it somehow? In retrospect it was a bit hammered and was very overpriced so I think that affected my impression of it? About a month back one turned up very locally to me, at a good price, with a V-Mach kit already fitted so I thought I'd have it as I could always move it on without loss. I have to say it's really grown on me! And I don't think I'll be letting it go anytime soon. It seems very accurate and not hold-sensitive at all. Mine's pretty quiet as standard. Does yours have the screw in plastic tip to the barrel? That's actually a form of moderator and will make a notable difference if it's missing. The Pest Expert
Thanks for the reply bud.. It feels lovely to hold for my self im quite a big guy cause its a heavy gun to be carrying around all day.. Im looking very forward to taking it out next weekend!! V match kit?? Im looking to upgrade the trigger and other little things.. When i first used it it wouldnt cock and the safety wouldnt engage so it wouldnt fire but i took the stock off and it worked everytime which confused me very much i placed the stock back on and still the same problem so i losend the front two screws on the stock and it works everytime if i tighten them again it wont work which is very strange!!.. Have you had many any good days out with the Tx ? All the best Jb
alex.mc
They are a heavy gun indeed, but that's not a bad thing really. A V-Mach kit is a tuning kit. Basically it's a new spring and some spring guides and a new seal etc. It's designed to make a good gun sweeter to shoot with no loss of power etc. It's fairly common for the last part of the cocking on a TX to need to be firm to get the safety properly popped. However, your scenario sounds like something is just making contact when the stock is on tight? Maybe take the action out and check the inside of the stock to see if there's any areas that are making contact that shouldn't? The triggers are fully adjustable, you should be able to get it the way you want fairly easily. Unfortunately where I am in South Croydon, there is not a great deal nearby that would be happy hunting for shooting permissions. I am on the fringes of Surrey but it's mostly expensive horses and there seems little in the way of pigeon and Rabbit problems making people open to giving a permission. It's one of the reasons I'm on here actually, trying to look just a little further afield and see if I can find anything. I have a large back garden though and am able to tempt Woodies down quite often, plus the occassional squirrel. But would love to get out properly in the future.
