Will Poon
I'm interested in people's opinion about various types of stocks for shotguns , most of us that posses a shotgun usually has a prince of Wales style grip of some description But more interestingly since seeing the Olympics last year there were some very interesting types of stock styles , I'm very interested in a glove grip stock for mainly sporting use, many pople says the style of grip is designed for static use i.e trap, I use to have a tactical style pistol grip on my 870 and after shooting over 100 cartridges my palm would get a bit sore, would it be the same for a glove grip stock? If any one has one , lets have some opinions please Edited April 26, 2013 by Willpoon
PhilR
I had a stock made with one for my Perazzi. The theory of it keeping your hand in the same position for every shot is sound. However, I found that I was getting a lot of recoil and headaches when using it. An experienced international coach friend suggested shooting it without my thumb over the top strap and lo and behold the recoil disappeared. The stock is now gathering dust in a cupboard and I'm using a normal pistol grip again.
