JonathanL
No convictions=no bother. In this case I'm sure that's true but not having a conviction does not automatically equal no bother. It is quite possible to be refused a certificate on perfectly legitimate grounds even though you have never been convicted of anything. J. JonathanL
Nope, no convictions or cautions, my record is clean. The worry is there because I have really wanted my licence for years now and really don't want to fall at the last hurdle. Looks lke it's a waiting game. , cheers for the replies guys As others have said; if you were going to be refused then it's unlikely that they would have come out to see you. I would guss that the number of people who are refused based on the visit is absolutely tiny. J.
Will Poon
If all what you say in the opening post is 100% , you have nothing to worry about as the police will KNOW EVERYTHING about your history
JonathanL
P.s. he did ask in the interview weather I had been in trouble with the police before and I told him everything. He then said he cou D check all this, implying that he hadn't already. No indication wether or not I was going to get my license, basically said it was in the hands of the chief police constanble He will have checked already, without a doubt. He is correct that, strictly speaking, it is the decision of the CC as to whether a certificate is granted. However, in practice, it is someone at the licensing department exercising the power delegated to him by the CC who issues it and not the CC him/her self. I don't think that any of my certificates have actually carried the signature of the chief constable. J. keg
The fact that you were open with the FEO was good, you were not trying to hide anything. Is this for real? You have NO convictions and HAVEN'T been in trouble with the Law because cases were dropped, YOU WERE INNOCENT, if we are to believe this, so what is this thread all about? Like some of us on here when we first applied for either FAC or SGC we worry and sometimes think too much or too deeply. I read this as the OP was looking for opinions and reassurance. Nrees21
Thanks for all the replies. Glad you said it Keg, I was biting my tongue I am the most honest person you could meet. Due to this fact I have been stung in the past, for example not taking a solicitor into my interview due to not having anything to hide, hence the cases ending up at court.
