indio
Good Evening All, how long would you say it's ok to prepare/eat/give to friends pigeons that you have shot but that haven't been stored in a fridge or freezer but have been keep in a cool place (not a nightclub or bar) like an old fashioned larder type place (about 7/8 degrees). 1 day ? 2 days? I'm talking about now and not in high temps of the summer (if we ever get one) all advice welcome kind regards
Hamster
It really depends, I don't consider 7/8 degrees to be cool enough for more than 2-3 days at a push. The floor of a garage though for instance, can be much cooler than the still air feels like, also how you spread them out and whether the crops have been emptied will have a bearing. indio
Thanks for your answer. I would normally only keep them over say 24 hours up to a max of 36 to give to mates in the pub (I miss tooooooooo many to even think about taking the few i do get to a game dealer) . kind regards It really depends, I don't consider 7/8 degrees to be cool enough for more than 2-3 days at a push.
