mereside Posted July 16, 2013 Report Share Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) to be honest mate the bigger they are the easier to handle its the little jacks doing croc rolls on you that you need to watch out for , just make sure you always strike on the first run dont wait as you dont know whats taken the bait if it is a big one is is down if you leave the run a while always carry a long set of clamps to reach down into the mouth. if you use a hooking mat and lay the pike down on its back if you have your fingers under the jaw gently move the jaw and it will open out instinctively for you for easy unhooking. if you lay belly down it becomes difficult hope this helps ,wayne ps barbless trebles are the way to go for ease of unhooking and also when a smaller one rolls in the net you dont need to cut the hooks.
