steveyg Posted July 19, 2013 Report Share Posted July 19, 2013 Got an invite from PW Member Pickerup to join him this afternoon on a field of half picked peas.We set up in the shade however very little for the first couple of hours,we decided to move to try and keep in the shade and move closer to a flight line. We moved the rotary at least four times and even tried adding a couple of carrier bags on it to try and keep the birds from landing in a tree a couple of hundred yards away from the hide. No matter what we tried the pigeons wouldn't commit to the decoy pattern,this encouraged us to try some long range shots ...my first 50 yd kill... We tried raising the dead birds on cradles but still no joy As always..we decided to pack up and three came in beautifully,we both tried to get the guns out the slips however...to late Great afternoon of banter and some tricky shots which made it all worth while.. I finished day on nine but it could of been so much better...hey ho that's pigeon shooting Cheers Pickerup for a Quality afternoon !!!
