69g match kings .223 and vhit 135

Recommended Posts

I have used 1000's of 69 and 77 Matchkings in CSR. Both are great bullets, but you need at least a 1 in 8 twist or faster to shoot them (you MAY get away with 1 in 9 for 69, but it all depends upon YOUR barrel???).

69's are good for 100 - 300, whilst 77's rule out to 600. As for longer, well I have a shooting buddy who rather annoyingly occasionally wins F Class with the 77 out to 1000, no wind permitting!!!

Whilst I currently use Acc 2520 in CSR (high 23's), sound alternatives are N140 (circa 24) or TAC (less). Both Acc and TAC are ball powders so work well through a progressive. CAUTION - work up your own loads - start 10% below max and work up slowly looking for pressure signs.

Load both to a mag length of 2.26 if using a straight pull.

Sierra produce a load chart for both AR15 and bolt gun - google them.

Sierra do not advise using Matchking on live quarry (unless you happen to have two legs for which the americans load a 77 SMK cannelure for military use).

Any more then PM me.

Simon

I'm using a 1 in 9 tikka m55 with 24" barrel. Sounds like it may be an idea to leave anything heavier to something with a faster twist, ill give them a go tho. If I can't get them to work I can always put them in the subsonic pile and see If I can throw sme more powder in.
