Well I picked this 1960's Webley Falcon up from PW member Kennym with the intention of using it to teach my daughter to shoot in my soon to be completed attic range and possibly for short range pest control on my uncles farm. When I received it in the post I could see that it would need some tlc to bring it back to it's best so I lined it up in the project queue!

As I received it, with the stock looking sorry for itself

My first plan was to give the stock a bit of attention and as I had some Tru oil left from the SxS hammergun I felt that it would be rude not to use it. I didn't want to do a full restoration on the stock as it is an old airgun and kind of wanted it to stay that way. I sanded the stock down but left a few little dents etc to preserve some character. I then stained it with 50% BC Walnut to 50% water

I then stripped the internals down and found that the piston seal was inop, the cocking shoe on the piston was seriously worn and the trigger spring had become a very interesting shape. I also found an Ox spring, which is probably what had knackered most of the gun..............

I ordered a Webley spring, piston seal set, trigger spring from Chambers and had the piston welded up by Red Bob on the BBS. Some serious polishing then insued and a full relube before putting the gun back together. I also polish the bluing with oil and 0000 wire wool to remove rust.

The completed gun, for some reason the stock looks lighter in the pic but has a lovely satin sheen.

It shoots very smoothly and goes through a decent amount of the Mrs Next catalogue so i'll chrono it when it's had a chance to bed in. Oh and I need to find a rear sight. Hopefully it will last me for the next 40 years!
