rtaylor
Just picked up some RBCS reloading equipment second hand. It came with some Lyman 308 dies. I'm going to be reloading for my 243 (but I'll hand onto the 308 dies). Looking on optics warehouse the Lyman full length dies are about £3 cheeper than the RBCS ones. Has anyone found any difference between the two or is one better than the other? Cheers
rem708
I've used many brands of die over the years and found little difference in any of them with the exception of the loc rings/nuts. Each manufacture uses a different technique. One other part that differs is the decapping pin. There is a multitude of ways these are secured but if you’re careful you should never break one and therefore not have to worry. I like Dillion for this reason as the pins are exceedingly secure and won’t stick in the flash hole and pull out. If you’re going to buy new then look at Lee as you can get sets with a neck sizer rather than a crimp which is a waste of time unless you intend to load military bullets with crimp rings (cannula)
