Does anyone take mallard eggs for incubation in Scotland?

Scottish Natural Heritage is proposing to make changes to the Scottish general licenses, to take effect from 1st January 2014.

One the proposals is as follows:

General Licence 11 permits the taking of mallard eggs for incubation for the purpose of conserving wild birds. We do not consider this purpose to be relevant here and it is our intention to either withdraw this Licence or provide for its use under an alternative licensable purpose. However, we are uncertain how widely General Licence 11 is actually used, so we would value feedback on this point.

BASC is still considering its position on its response to the consultation so comments on this proposal would be helpful.
