Frank
Well, what can i say, a MASSIVE thank you to you all for your kind remarks and support. Also, to those who spoted that my lad needs a hair cut. I will try and make the wife see sense, but, its going to be bloody hard work me thinks. We discussed, or more like shouted about it today and i got nowhere, my son also got upset that he could not come till he was 12 aswell, which did not help the situation at all. O' well, just keep my head up and try and keep the peace for now. Frank.

kip270
Looks like your son enjoyed the ferreting Frank. My son came out with me when he was Four (OK i had to carry him most of the time, and he is now 20 and loves the outdoors) with the air-rifle, and he was always with me when preparing rabbits, pigeons, squirrells. Then when my daughter came along, when she was six, she wanted to be a Veggie that didn't last long Frank, try it from a different angle. How many kids nowadays know where beef, bacon, milk, eggs so forth come from. Most common answer= The Shop. You are teaching him the most important skills, how to deal with life and death, and where food for the table comes from. Also what about the new epidemic obesitity(spelling) better for him to be out and about with you and getting exercise rather than sitting at home on a ps2!! He will learn more now in the early years for the future generations. I had a compliment from my ex-wife a few months back the fact that our kids know about nature and the circle of life. Her partners kids don't have a clue about such things and my kids are teaching them. I just wish i lived closer to my son(& daughter) i really miss our days shooting together, the early days are the one's to treasure, nothing better than getting them into field sports. Keep at it Frank, she will see sense
