paddywack12
Have been reading about how some of you have adapted your fud decoys by getting rid of the red spike and then using canes or rods to add some movement to your pattern. How do you get red spike off? Do you just use hacksaw or can you pull them apart and take them off?
Bluebarrels
I just popped the stud/clip apart and kept the spikes complete just incase I wanted to replace them its suprising how much weight you will loose if you remove the spikes BB I then just replaced the stud/clip with a small black cable tie (to hold the deek together) or use some of the spare studs that come with Fud's Edited February 16, 2014 by Bluebarrels
humperdingle
I put a couple of vids on youtube, ifyou search 'FUD modification', should come up with some. The simplest thing they could do at a manufacturing level, would be to have a little 'cup' or socket at the top of the bird, where the clip is, then a rod to pass through into the ground, to allow free movement in the wind. To modify, the rod and tube works very well.
