Vectan A1, 32g, 1200fps

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I want to reload 32g cartridges with Vectan A1 at 1200 fps. Either fibre or plastic wad but if it's possible, would like to try both. I found a couple circa 1100 and 1300 fps data here in forum but couldn't find any at 1200 fps. Do you know or have any?

eh?

vectan AS can do that, cleaner too.

if you have data for 1100fps and 1300fps just go for inbetween? in all honestly the speeds quoted on boxes of shells, are from a proof gun, and extrapolated for MV. (ie guessed (chuck on 50-100fps)

+1

The velocity will vary with ambient temperature on the day. Variation between shells will change velocity, eg accuracy of powder charge, how hard you compress the wad, tightness of crimp etc. If you drop the powder charge by 5% on the 1300fps load you're probably as close as you're going to get.

wouldnt be to bothered with conditions, just select a decent recipe,

usually if the pressure is great (ie within 8000-10500psi) its usually clean, burns well, great consistency in seed and pressure.
