corkycorksta
I posted my application to Winifrith last week for grant of SGC.  Whistling quietly to myself, I left the post office day dreaming of clouds of vaporised orange and plummeting corvids. I said to myself, 2 or 3 months and I can go shopping for a nice Hatstand or some similar Turkish delight 😊 I had a conversation with a chap today whilst at Christchurch gun club and he thinks I could be waiting 6 months ! Some kind of backlog due to shortages of staff. To be fair I had heard similar predictions of timescale regarding FAC grants but had foolishly assumed the SGC process to be simpler and therefore faster. It appears I may have misled myself.  I was wondering if any locals on here had any recent experience of SGC new grant timescales in Dorset ? Should I just go back to my usual day dreams - "yummy, steak for tea again tonight" or is it worth contacting the local firearms officer directly to politely inquire what biscuits they might like ?  Should the afore mentioned snacks be selected on the basis of carrying an extended shelf-life ?  Thanks
flyingphil
A friend of mine in Dorset has just had his through after a six month wait. He did say that he got it within a week of his home visit from the FLO. Â I hope you get yours a bit quicker than that.

corkycorksta
Looks like I am getting my visit in a couple of weeks time, if all goes ok I hope to get the ticket shortly after. So that will be about 4 months give or take... Â Starting to think more seriously about what to buy now, a good Baikal with change for clay lessons and carts or an A400 and a load of overtime to work ? ? ?
