Spiffing mate. Her problem with the dropping before you on the last vid was due to the fact she'd retrieved from water and wanted a shake, to shake she put the birdy down.

Had you trained her to deliver the bird to you as she exited the water, at the waters edge, she wouldn't av dropped the bird mate. Over a period of a week or so you take a few steps further back from the waters edge as she's coming out and bit by bit you build up a good distance of her carrying the bird, without ingraining the habit of wanting to shake. She slowly gets into the habit of releasing the bird in your hand then that becomes the que to shake, after the bird is safely in your hand.The dogs not at fault for wanting to shake but your method of getting a bird delivered to hand properly from water, is incorrect. Remember Neil, a live duck is not going to sit on the ground if she drops it to shake. :good:
